PRESS RELEASE

CTSA Seeks Mandate Through Member’s Vote

Crawley, United Kingdom -The Crawley Town Supporters Alliance (CTSA) sent an important email, earlier today, to all CTSA Members which seeks to provide the CTSA with the strongest possible mandate to help achieve the best outcome for the club at this critical time in its long history.

In the email, CTSA Chair, Reuben Watt, highlighted the urgency of the situation and the potential consequences of the current leadership’s decision-making. “We believe that relegation and financial hardship are realistic prospects if Mr. Smith and Mr. Johnson continue in their positions. Our aim is to prompt the replacement of the Co-Chairmen to safeguard the future of Crawley Town Football Club,” said Reuben Watt.

The email contains a call to action for CTSA members, urging them to vote on two alternatives presented by the CTSA:

(a) For the CTSA to continue its efforts to persuade WAGMI Utd to engage with us and facilitate our request to replace the current Co-Chairmen.

(b) For the CTSA to pursue any alternative legal means necessary to ensure the current Co-Chairmen are replaced.

CTSA members are encouraged to cast their vote through an online ballot, the link to which can be found in the email. Voting will close on Saturday, June 10th, 2023, at 11:00. Only CTSA members who were registered by 10:00 am on June 7th, 2023, are eligible to participate, and all votes will be verified using email addresses.

The CTSA emphasizes the significance of this ballot, as it aims to gather a strong mandate to support its efforts in achieving the best outcome for Crawley Town Football Club during this crucial time in the club’s history.

Email to members

Dear CTSA Members

In April this year, we issued a well-publicised statement (https://www.ctfcsa.co.uk/2023/statement-17-april-2023/) addressed to the ultimate beneficial owners of Crawley Town Football Club containing the following requests:

1. To commence the process of replacing the Co-Chairmen Mr Eben Smith and Mr Preston Johnson.
2. To commence the process of replacing the interim CEO Mr Chris Galley.
3. To contact the CTSA to commence a constructive dialogue to help achieve the success of the club.

We have since welcomed the resignation of Mr Galley as interim CEO.

However, Mr Smith and Mr Johnson remain in their positions as Co-Chairmen and the CTSA have received no contact from the ultimate beneficial owners or other representatives of WAGMI Utd.

The CTSA are of the opinion that relegation and financial hardship for the club are realistic prospects should Mr Smith and Mr Johnson remain in their positions. This opinion is founded on evidence of their incompetent decision making resulting in profound consequences for the club which includes ending the season one place above relegation from the football league.

In consideration of the above, we seek a mandate from our membership to determine the course of action to achieve our principal outstanding objective which is the prompt replacement of Mr Smith and Mr Johnson as Co-Chairmen of Crawley Town Football Club.

Accordingly, we invite you to please vote for one of the following alternatives:

(a) For the CTSA to continue its efforts to persuade WAGMI Utd to engage with us and facilitate our request to replace the current Co-Chairmen.

(b) For the CTSA to pursue any alternative legal means necessary to ensure the current Co-Chairmen are replaced.

For the sake of clarity option (b) above may involve such action as lawful protests as well as organising boycotts of home or away matches as a last resort.

Your vote can be cast at (See email) and the ballot will close at 11:00 on this coming Saturday 10th June 2023. Please note that only those who were members of the CTSA by 10:00 am on the 7th June 2023 are able to vote and all votes will be verified through the email addresses.

We urge you, please, to participate in this ballot in order to provide the CTSA with the strongest possible mandate to help achieve the best outcome for the club at this critical time in its long history.

Thank you.

Regards,

Reuben
