The following message from Sam Jordan appeared in the Crawley Town v Crewe Alexandra matchday programme on April 28.

Good afternoon Reds fans! Firstly, thank you to everyone who supported the Crawley Town Supporter’s Alliance annual Easter egg appeal for Chestnut Tree House. We were able to donate an incredible 356 eggs on Easter Saturday which was the most that we have donated in the seven years since this initiative has been running, thank you.

This season, the CTSA are proud to be able to sponsor the Official Young Player of the Season Award, and all supporters are able to vote at ctfcsa.co.uk until midnight tomorrow. On Friday, May 4 we have our annual ‘Football Festival’. There are still spaces left for teams to enter and the team who raises the most sponsorship money will receive 2 tickets to the club’s end of season awards on Sunday, May 6.

I have been directly involved with the CTSA for nearly six months now – I have been delighted with how open and honest Kelly Derham and Joe Comper have been and I can’t stress enough how hard the team work behind the scenes to ensure that the club is successful both on and off the pitch.

What has impressed me the most is how they are constantly looking to save on costs so that more money can be invested into the playing budget. With this in mind, the three most important things to me as CTSA Chair are having an ongoing open dialogue with those at the club alongside helping raise the profile of the club whilst supporting them financially. Steve Leake has taken up the role as Fan Representative which came with the CTSA donating £8,000 to the club.

It is important that this representation continues alongside supporting the club financially. However, in order to do this we need to have the funds to do so. To help us to do this, going forward, the CTSA need to come up with ways to raise money.

In the close season we will be releasing details of ‘Reds Rollover’, where supporters will have the opportunity to win monthly cash prizes as well as helping the club financially for just £5 a month. If we can get just one hundred supporters to sign up to Reds Rollover, we can raise nearly £3,000 every season with every penny going straight back into the playing budget. Keep an eye on our website and social media channels for more news on this soon.

The reason we support CTFC is for the football and after an uneasy start this season, Harry and Warren have proven that they can get results at this level, whilst playing an attractive style of football – after all, we have taken six points off the champions.

Thank you for your support this season – have a great summer.
